PM Modi Flags Off 4 New Vande Bharat Trains from Varanasi Today

4 New Vande Bharat Trains: The Indian rail network is set to achieve another milestone when Prime Minister Narendra Modi flags off 4 new Vande Bharat Express trains on November 8, 2025. This ambitious launch spans multiple regions: the Banaras–Khajuraho route linking cultural sites, Lucknow–Saharanpur enhancing UP connectivity, Firozpur–Delhi improving access between Punjab and the capital, and Ernakulam–Bengaluru strengthening links in the south.

These trains promise not just speed and comfort but also greater economic integration, tourism flow, and regional uplift. In this blog, we’ll dive into the routes, timing, significance, fresh data, and how this aligns with a broader vision of nation-building.

Why This Launch Matters

Faster connectivity, richer experiences

With these four services, travel-times are significantly reduced: for example, the Banaras–Khajuraho route is expected to save around 2 hours 40 minutes compared to special trains.  The Lucknow–Saharanpur train will complete its journey in about 7 hours 45 minutes, cutting nearly an hour.  The Firozpur–Delhi route will clock in at just 6 hours 40 minutes, representing one of the fastest connections on that corridor.  In the south, Ernakulam–Bengaluru will take around 8 hours 40 minutes, improving links between major IT and business centres.

Faster travel means more than convenience: it means people spend less time en route, have greater access to job markets, tourism destinations, cultural sites, and regions previously considered remote become better connected.

Regional and cultural significance

  • The Banaras (Varanasi)–Khajuraho train links two of India’s most revered cultural and tourism destinations, bridging Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh and catering to pilgrims, tourists and locals alike.
  • Lucknow–Saharanpur bolsters western and central UP connectivity, improving access for towns like Sitapur, Shahjahanpur, Bareilly, Bijnor and Moradabad.
  • Firozpur–Delhi strengthens Punjab’s border regions’ linkage to the national capital, boosting trade corridors and mobility.
  • Ernakulam–Bengaluru is about linking a major Kerala metropolis with a major Karnataka hub—connecting IT, industry, students and travellers in the south.

Building modern rail infrastructure
