- Applicants are required to register with their valid email id and phone number to get the enrollment ID and password for login.
- On the homepage of the website, find ‘Apply Online’. With the enrollment ID and password, the applicants can login to GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS).
- Fill in the required details including personal information, academic qualifications and other needed details.
- After that the applicants are required to upload the scanned copy of photograph, signature and other necessary documents based on the specifications mentioned in the guidelines.
- Next step is payment of application fees that can be paid online via Net Banking, UPI, and debit/credit card.

- Computer Based Test (CBT)
- 3 hours duration
- General Aptitude + Candidates selected subjects
- General Aptitude: 15 marks, Subject Question: 85 marks, Total: 100 marks
- Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ), Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) or Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions are the type of questions.
- No negative marking to MSQ or NAT questions, no partial marking in MSQ
- ⅓ marks will be deducted for a wrong answer in 1 mark MCQ and ⅔ marks will be deducted for a wrong answer in 2 mark MCQ.
